Route Access Manager

An opportunity has arisen to join the Heathrow Express Operations as a Route Access Manager.

 

Overall Purpose of the role and Key Responsibilities

 

  • Accountable for ensuring track access rights and delivering a complaint timetable to meet customer expectations are verified through GWR contract.
  • Accountable for managing the compensation regime for performance failures by third parties affecting HEX and HEC train performance in conjunction with GWR.
  • Accountable for providing reports, analysis and Management Information to wider business on all aspects of train performance in liaison with the GWR contract.
  • Maintaining effective working relationships with key Rail Industry partners (HAL Rail, Network Rail and Great Western Railway).

 

Technical Aspects of the role.

  • Thorough understanding of track access arrangements.
  • Timetabling, rolling stock diagramming, essential
  • Capacity to work effectively with others with competing objectives
  • Understanding of safety critical working and rail operation

 

Top 6 Responsibilities

  • Represent Heathrow Express at relevant meetings with HAL Rail, GWR, Network Rail to influence timetable design, performance regimes, event planning, engineering possessions and disruption management to best advantage for Heathrow Express through contract with GWR.
  • Lead timetable development
  • Lead train performance reporting for Heathrow Express, using information to support the business in developing improvement plans in conjunction with GWR team delivering the Hex service.
  • Take part as Hex representative in the SPIR review process and post incident reviews to ensure that contingency plans work and Hex is receiving correct levels of attention.
  • Work with GWR team on compensation claims with specific attention to nature of claim to ensure that all compensation due is forthcoming.
  • Support the Contract manager in dealing with access related matters with GWR team

Additional Information about the role.

  • Occasional requirement for out of hours working in the event of service disruption
  • The role holder may be required to work outside their immediate role scope, if required.
  • The role holder will be required to travel to all Heathrow Express locations.
  • Flexibility required to attend meetings and functions out of normal working hours at other locations with both internal and external customers.
